How to cover dark circles using red lipstick.

Almost everyone suffers from dark circles at least once in life. The reason we try so hard to hide them is because they always show through our makeup, ruining the beautiful work we have done.

However, some makeup artists have discovered that red lipsticks might be the best products to conceal dark eye circles, maybe even better than concealers.

You might have heard about this makeup hack before now. Although it sounds like another of the numerous nonhelpful beauty hacks out there, it is quite good and might work well for you if you try it out.

The theory is that the red lipstick will balance out the dark circles (which are usually shades of blue, purple or brown). Then after it is covered with concealer or foundation, it will leave the skin looking naturally even.

How to color correct dark circles using red lipstick

In order to be able to do this correctly, you'll need a creamy textured lipstick, and not a matte textured one. This is because the creamy textured lipstick will fit your skin better. I'd also advice you use a bright orangey red lipstick, and not one with a dark red color.

Steps:

i) Wash your face, and apply a moisturizer.
ii) Properly prime your face.
iii) Apply the red lipstick on the discolored area using a flat makeup brush, or you can apply directly. Apply little by little, so you don't apply more than you need.
iv) Blend with the flat brush or finger. Avoid spreading the color all over your face when blending.
vi) Apply concealer completely over the area you just painted red. Preferably, use a beauty sponge to blend the colour in, instead of a brush.
vii) Continue building coverage little by little, until the red color is completely invisible.
viii) Set your concealer, or carry on with your makeup as you usually would.

Viola! Your dark circles are gone. Well, hidden, but you get what I mean lol. I hope this trick works for you.
